First Wednesday Song Circles

If you like to sing all types of folk songs, come give the Song Circle a try.  The July song circle will be held this Wednesday, July 2nd, from 7 to 9 PM at the home of Jude Emmanere.  Her address is 1195 Trail Ave (map).  Her phone number is 431-0170.

Directions: From River Road (at the traffic light close to Goodwill) turn West onto W Hilliard Ln, then take the 2nd Right onto Jayne St.  This quickly turns into Trail Ave.  Bear to the Right.  Jude&rsqo;s place is the 2nd house on the left.  There is parking in the driveway or on the street.

Blago Scholarship Fund

EFS members may apply for scholarships to dance camps, music camps, or workshops up to a maximum of $50 will be given per event.

EFS Contra Dances

EFS puts on contradances at Ceasar Chavez School, 1510 W 14th (Map) on 2nd and 4th Saturdays through the school year. (Sept thru June).

Membership

Midsummer Madness 2008

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008:  2:00-10:00 PM, potluck feast at 6:00 followed by sock hop dance to Ken's incredible collection of music CD's.  Waltz, Swing, Zydeco, etc!

This invite goes out to past, present, and future EFS members.  We'd like to bring the musicians, singers, and dancers of our folklore community together under one sky for a day of fun, food, music, singing, swimming, and dancing!!!!

EFS has rented the big beautiful Pavillion in the Mt Pisgah Arboretum located in Buford Park just east of Eugene (map).  This site has a covered pavillion with a smooth concrete floor (bring some dancing tennies?), huge doors that open tot heoutside, picnic tables, and a nice swimming hole in the lazy Coast Fork of the Willamette River.  EFS will provide some dinks and ice.  Please bring something for the 6:00 potluck such as a main dish, salad, or dessert.  Beer and wine are allowed in the park.

BRING a potluck item, tableware, instruments, song books, swim shoes and toys, lawn chairs, outdoor games, friends and dancing shoes (the floor is concrete).

There is a $2 parking fee for vehicles, we encourage you to carpool!
