- HIKING TRAILS AND WILDFLOWERS by Keith and Barbro McCree -

The Mt.Yoran trail lies entirely within the Diamond Peak Wilderness. It is 6.8 km (4.2 miles) long. From the junction with the Vivian Lake trail, the trail climbs steeply to a ridge, from which there are excellent views of the north face of Diamond Peak (2660m, 8700 ft.). It then descends to Divide Lake, a popular wilderness camping spot at the foot of Mt.Yoran (2164m, 7100 ft.). The trail continues over a ridge to link up with the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, which runs from Mexico to Canada.
