BASEBALL HALL OF FAME SUMMER INTERNSHIPS




"...the Frank and Peggy Steele Internship Program is a ten week experience that 
offers college and graduate students an opportunity to work alongside Museum and Library staff to 
gain hands-on professional training in a field that closely matches his/her major. Interns craft 
leadership and communication skills by attending career seminars hosted by Hall of Fame staff and 
community leaders and also by participating in thematic public speaking, research and writing
assignments that directly relate to the fulfilling the mission of the organization. An excellent 
opportunity for students in the museum field, we offer positions in curatorial, collections, 
education, membership, group sales, public relations and more!   The  application deadline is January 31.

COOPER-HEWITT MUSEUM




They offer some unpaid/volunteer academic year internships. All of their summer internships are 
now funded through the Peter Krueger Summer Internship Program.  There are a total 13 positions 
available this summer (2007) with a stipend of $2500.  Additional information on the internship

politics, English, or similar) or graduate studies (museum studies, public history, education,

organized, and able to work independently. Must be able to climb stairs and ladders. A solid

FRICK COLLECTION ANDREW W. MELLON 
PREDOCTORAL CURATORIAL FELLOWSHIP 2008-2010 




"The Frick Collection is pleased to announce the availability of a two-year predoctoral fellowship 
funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for an outstanding doctoral candidate who wishes to pursue 
a curatorial career in an art museum. The fellowship will offer invaluable curatorial training and 
will provide the scholarly and financial resources required for completing the doctoral dissertation. 
It is best suited to a student working on a dissertation that pertains to one of the major strengths 
of the Collection and Library. The Fellow will be expected to divide his or her time between the 
completion of the dissertation and activities in the curatorial department. Applicants must be within 
the final two years of completing their dissertations. The Mellon Fellow will receive a stipend of 
$33,000 per year plus benefits and a travel allowance.  The term will begin in September 2008
and conclude in August 2010. The application deadline for the fellowship is January 17, 2008.

SAMUEL H. KRESS FOUNDATION CONSERVATION FELLOWSHIPS




Offers ten $25,000 Conservation Fellowships for advanced internships in fine arts conservation. These Fellowships 
are restricted to individuals who have completed an M.A. degree in art conservation and are for a one-year internship.  
Application must be made by the museum or conservation research facility at which the internship will be
based.  Applications should include a brief description of the internship, the dates for the internship, the c.v. of 
the individual nominated, and three letters of recommendation.  Check the Web site for further information.

at the South Dakota Art Museum range in length from one to three months. It is expected that interns will commit to 
a set number of contact hours per week. Intern positions are typically project-oriented with interns working alongside

The availability of internships is determined by the needs of curatorial staff, considering exhibition schedules

"The Advanced-Level Internship program offers comprehensive museum training to graduate students or post college 
graduates interested in the museum field.  Our one semester to one year program combines hands on experience,
workshops, lectures, projects, a comprehensive overview of the museum as well as indepth study in one department. Staff 
members are encouraged to form mentoring relationships with interns and upon completion of the program, interns are 
added to a database that connects them to an extensive network of nearly 1000 former interns in order to promote 
networking  and career development opportunities.  Many of our interns go on to challenging and prestigious positions 
in the museum field. The program may be done for  academic credit in contractual arrangement with the intern's home

State Parks and Cultural Resources is seeking an intern to work with the collections and/or education staff of the 
Wyoming State Museum for a twenty to forty hour a week contract for a minimum of three to a maximum of six months. The 
intern will work on various projects based on current needs of the State Museum and interests of the intern. A professional 
staff member of the Wyoming State Museum will supervise the intern. The Museum is seeking a candidate who is currently 
a student in a graduate level university program in museum studies, public history, or related field; or a recent graduate of one of these programs. The intern will be paid $11.00
