ART HISTORY 363
The Final will be given Monday, May 3 It will be set up in two parts:
- There will be five pairs of slide comparisons, shown for five minutes
each. Coverage begins after the Midterm.
- There will be an essay question. (See below) You will be given in
advance three questions; two will be listed on the Final and you will
write on one.
The Essay Questions
You must choose from the two questions presented to you on the
exam. Your response must consider in some detail at least six works of
art; do not simply list works--they will not count. Your essay must be at
least three and no more than four handwritten pages. On your preparation:
- Please use your texts and your lecture notes to prepare your
- Please Note: Each student is to provide an individual
response to the chosen question. I expect that there will be students who
will study together to formulate their responses, but you cannot submit a
committee response to the question (meaning that you can't set it up so
that, for example, Bill and Hillary write up question #1, George and Laura
write up #2, and Danese and Marfisa write up #3, and then they pass their
answers around). If you do this, I will consider it cheating and you will
fail the exam and also the course.
There are no scheduled make-ups for the Final. Students
who miss the exam will be allowed to take it at another time only upon the
presentation of written proof of a serious, usually medical, reason for
not having attended the original exam.
