Beverly K. Effinger received her training in Fine Arts at Newcomb College of Tulane University and the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts. She has worked as a naturalist and scientific illustrator, and has studied painting under Auseklis Ozols and M. Dell Weller. Her work has a unique place in the South's Academic Revival.
