REVIEWS

Steve Roach [full review]
"This CD (Pathless Ways) is one of those rare releases that is so unique and evocative that it can only be (unfairly) compared to what has come before, to help give a feel for what's in store. Dead can Dance and other 4AD releases, Soul Whirling Somewhere, ECM, non-specific world and Eastern percussion and etheric voices are only part of this ambitious project. Passionately performed 12-string guitar and sitar are also woven into the mystical fabric. Surprisingly no synths or samplers were used, yet you still hear a wash of atmosphere throughout. Steve Roach was invited to do the final mastering, but did not add any processing or additional sounds. This is the kind of music you might hear wafting from deep within a misty overgrown forest as the light wanes into twilight." — Steve Roach, ambient music composer

Alex Jasperse [full review]
"Dream of Being's (formerly Arundas) fusion of ingeniously repeated compositional structures and highly melodic improvisations – with a pronounced Eastern meditative influence – makes Pathless Ways an exquisite and accessible blend of intensity and beauty. Just outside of the limits of traditional logic, it opens the door to perhaps one of the most mesmerizing artistic statements of the twenty-first century." — Alex Jasperse, music critic, The Muse's Muse

Others ...

"Immense themes, beautifully conceived, dynamic and varied, crossing a wide expanse of moods. A deeply imaginative and moving work. A must have for mystics and passionate listeners." — Don Ponasai [page]

"Much like Listen, the melodious sounds of this album provide the listener with an indescribable musical experience that truly touches the soul. After a complete listening, I feel completely refreshed and relaxed, my body and mind emptied of any worldly stress. Pathless Ways is, for lack of better words, simply fantastic." — Blake [page]

"Rich with vision, this beautiful work represents a lot of what I look for in music. This CD has guided me through many meditations. Music like this is hard to come by! I can't listen to just one song, I always listen to the whole CD. I truly hope to hear more from this artist." — Viela Sparrow [page]

"Sadly, because they sit in the lonely heights of the music world, where few have the fire or fortune to travel, I can't say that Arundas will ever enjoy the audience size of those working the McMusic scene ... But to those lucky enough to discover them, enjoy the sublime view." — John Jakes [page]
