  • Bi-directional, Dual-Platform Database Synchronization. A records-storage company with a robust customized database system wanted to exchange data with a web-server through their application. Instead of reprogramming their application to handle a new back-end, I designed and created a synchronization software application. The program tracks changes on separate MySQL and Foxpro databases and replicates changes to the other platform in near-real-time, without modification to the original client program. For full technical details and documentation, see Vital-Sync.

  • Automated Text Parser and Integrator. At Koch Industries, I was asked to perform a task involving the integration of current federal regulations into an environmental compliance tracking database. Their mechanism was cumbersome and historically the task took about 3 weeks of effort. Instead, in 3 days I created a Visual Basic program that automated this process so that consequently it could be completed in several minutes and be run again indefinitely in the future. For this work I was given the task of recreating the compliance database (see mCAD).

  • Complex Responder. The application I am developing called Dream Well has been designed to analyze the user's responses and external conditions and adapt itself and vary its responses accordingly. It will also guide the user through its operation process according to a complex array of factors.

  • Quick-Response Data Translation. When I worked at the Haber law office, we were involved in a big case (Hanford Nuclear Reservation downwinders suit) involving the Department of Energy, in which they sent us a data file that was unsearchable. We requested they send it to us in a useable format, but they said it would take weeks of work and cost $50,000 at least. I translated the raw data into a readable format in 1 day.

  • Fantasy Adventure Design System. In high school, I created a system whereby users could create original adventures playable by others. The system allowed an array of mazes, battles, treasures, magic spells, traps, riddles, character development, background stories, etc. It was eventually distributed nationwide (see Dungeon).
