Samhuinn 2002 Newsletter

To all of our friends and members:

Through the magic of technology and the good works of computer technicians we have now regained the ability to contact you in this way.  On April 20th of this year, our entire mailing list and that of Mrs. Thompson's was stolen and removed from the computer on which they were stored.  Unfortunately this means that your address has been and continues to be in the hands of the person who perpetrated this crime.  Without our consent or knowledge and contrary to Foundation policy and our position of community goodwill anonymous mailing of stolen, confusing, altered, inflammatory, false, and forged documents were sent out to many of you on this list.  We are sorry that the person responsible for these acts has chosen to behave in this manner and to engage you in this way.  Please be assured that these mailing in no way came from An Ceangal Mara Foundation. We understand that these acts were aimed at injuring, discrediting and usurping An Ceangal Mara Foundation as a group.

Actions that we are currently taking:
         *    We know the identity of the perpetrator.
         *  Legal measures are in the hands of the appropriate officials.
         *  To resolve any further security issues we have changed our website and email
             addresses to the following:
                           ** celtic@efn.org

What actions you can take to stop these fraudulent mailings and to hold the perpetrator accountable:

    *    If you have been the unfortunate recipient of these mailings, please bring or send the entire envelope with the documents enclosed to our office, graciously donated by Mrs. Thompson's at 27 West Fifth Avenue Eugene, OR  97401, so that it may be entered into evidence.
    *    If you are receiving other promotional mailings that you believe came to you by way of this stolen mailing list, please also bring or send these documents to our office and we will follow this up to confirm the source of the mailing.
    *    If you receive a mailing and are in doubt if it indeed came from An Ceangal Mara Foundation, please do not hesitate to contact us or check our website to confirm the mailing.
    *    Please feel free to come to our monthly meetings with your questions or concerns.  These are held on the first Sunday of the month, 6pm at Mrs. Thompson's 27 West Fifth Avenue   Eugene, OR  97401
    *    If you would prefer no to receive further mailings from the Foundation contact us.  If you wish not to receive further mailings from the person who stole the Foundation mailing list, please follow the previously suggested actions.

We sincerely thank you for your reasoning and clear thinking, and for your continued support through this difficult time for us all.

So that we might continue our relationship unhindered and as a way to reconnect, please join us at our annual Samhuinn Celtic New Year Celebration, Saturday November 2nd 7pm-10pm at Mrs. Thompson's 27th West Fifth Avenue Eugene, OR 97401.  (And visit our neighbor Carolyn Quinn at her Fool's Paradise Tea House for Divination Night!)
