La Fheile Brighid ~ Brigid's Feast Day Annual Celtic Community Feast
Sunday February 1st, 2009 at 6pm
Fireside Room of Laurelwood Golf Course 2800 Columbia, in South Eugene
Brigid continues to be revered at wells and springs throughout Scotland and Ireland. This
event coincides with the celebration that will be held in Ireland on this same day and has been since before medieval times.

Harpers Janet Naylor and Flautist Meg Graf will perform throughout the evening, stories of Brigid will be told and a bit of the traditional ceremony will be shared.

Our Chef will be Clive Wanstall, the Certified Executive Chef of Lane Community College's culinary arts program preparing a culturally significant feasting fare.
The Menu is composed by Chef Clive Wanstall and Heather Nic an Fhleisdeir, utilizing food references from Celtic poetry, legend and song. The feast will be
prepared by students and alumni of Lane Community Colleges nationally accredited culinary arts program. Our menu is a combination of classical and modern cooking
techniques, featuring elements of Irish Celtic culture. Within the concepts of Celtic cuisine there are structures and styles, which we have used to illustrate the philosophy of food as nourishment for both the mind and body.
