The Readymen

The Readymen were a Eugene based band built of:

   Dustin -- Vocals
   Brendan - Guitar
           - Bass Guitar
   JP ------ Drums

The Readymen are a ska-punk band. I've seen them twice and the first time they played more of the ska sound while the second time it was more punk (if you know what I mean). If you like Op Ivy, you most likely would like these guys. I think some of their songs sound Op Ivyish. Currently they have an LP and a CD out. The LP has The Readymen on one side and The Chitz (a Canadian punk band) on the other side. They only had 511 of these pressed....So once they're sold there will be NO MORE. I believe that this was a self entitled album (not sure). They also have a CD out titled "Show Hall Bound." The CD can be purchased from

   Mr. White Records
   P.O. Box 24377
   Milwaukee, WI
           53224

I believe they only had 1000 of the CDs pressed initially.

-----

The Readymen will be releasing a new single on Illumination Records. The release date is February 3rd. The songs on this single will be "Out of the Rubble", "Factory", and "Drowned Out." This will be on green vinyl and will cost $3.50 (which includes S&H).

   Illumination Records
   P.O. Box 700194
   San Jose, CA
   	95170

You can write Michael Liu for more information. Although the band has broken up, The Readymen still have a cool web page.

The Scandals

The Scandals have stopped playing ska and went to swing. They have changed their name to the Lucky Seven Swing Ensemble.

The Skamatiks

The Skamatiks are from Salem, OR. They are:

   Dave Briski ------------ Guitar, vocals
   Jeff Akin -------------- Percussion, vocals
Norm Walters ----------- Alto sax, vocals
   Caleb Coombs ----------- Bass, vocals
   Jeremy Hansen ---------- Tenor Sax

We're a positive ska movement with Christian beliefs. We have a unique sound, in that we play a little of everything - but we keep it ska. All the members of our band have different music backgrounds, and that makes for all the variety we display.

The Skamatics released their first album, "The S Files" on Ionic Records in November of 1999.
