The R.E.M. song "At My Most Beautiful" was Up's 3rd single and took Michael one year to write.

"Losing My Religion" came in at #18 on a Rolling Stone/MTV list of the 100 best pop songs of all time.  "Yesterday", by the Beatles topped the list.  This song also placed at #143 on the top songs of the century from the National Endowment for the Arts.

Automatic for the People came in at #35 on Spin's Best Albums of the past 25 years, as did Fables of the Reconstruction, which came in at a respectable #65 (2010).

The Liberty of Congress announced in 2010 that "Radio Free Europe" had been added to the National Recording Registry.
