Artist's Statement

My artwork is a vivid personal expression for me. It is an integral part of my human experience, a way of being. Originating both outside and within myself, my art is speaking for the more silent parts of me and of the world. In my life's journey, I have discovered that my internal emotional process and my intuitive creative process are the two essential parts of my complete self. My art reflects my lived experience, and tends toward the humorous and unusual.

For the most part creating is a solitary event for me, although I am constantly influenced and helped by the expressive people in my world. In the past few years I have grown to appreciate the influences of artists and the natural world. I always feel I learn from people seeing my work and from their visions reflected back to me.
