One Experience with a Hospital Birth

I just attended a hospital birth as a labor doula and after I have a huge amount of anger at a certain doctor. This Dr. said all the right things about squatting, perineal support/massage, IV etc... When it came down to it he lied about everything. He insisted on the IV and was confrontational when she hesitated. I told her she need not consent, but the pressure was too great. He wanted to pit her at 6/7 cm after only 12 hours labor because she slowed while in bed with EFM. I did get her in to the bath and off the monitor for 2 hours! He insisted on AROM and she again consented under pressure, but refused pit!

Then he proceeded to suture her with no local, and yelled at her when she cried and jumped of the bed. I did insist that he numb her, and after a bit more sewing he stabbed her with a needle and numbed her then said "are you happy now?".

What a butcher. I wish I could have confronted this man, but I was there for the family. It was not the time and place to take action. I need to know what to do about this! I would think that stories like these would make hospitals the last place a woman would want to have a baby...

I have seen many nice hospital births, but I will never go near this doctor again. Any advice or comments are welcome.
