find Fascinating! Hi! Even though my email
name shows dmaring. I re-married in 1995 and my name is Darlene Marquardt.
I
am a school teacher. I teach in Eastern Oregon. 
I have been the Computer/Business teacher at Heppner High School in the Morrow County School District from 2003-4 until 2007-8 school year. Beginning in the 2008-9 school year I will be the music teacher at A.C. Houghton and Irrigon Elementary Schools, also in Morrow County. Previous to being at Heppner High, I taught Business, Computer and Technology classes at Ione K-12 School. I also taught beginning and middle school Band Classes and elementary school music. Before I taught in Morrow County, I taught MUSIC and C0MPUTERS and Business Education in
the Echo Schools .. Umatilla County District 5-R. One year I began developing a web page about S.O.S. Reading and through the help of Southern Oregon ESD, we got a domain name and have a great little teacher resource. On January 9, 2004, I was awarded the honor of the site becoming Good Housekeeping Site-of-the-day. You used to be able to visit the SOS site at http://www.sosreading.org but the SOESD quit maintaining the site and the writers of the resources we posted there, decided they didn't want to publicly share their information. So the page got taken offline. Summers: For the last five summers (and probably this coming one) I worked the month of July at Meadowood Speech and Hearing Camp . Before that I spent a couple of summers working as a teacher intern for Business Education Compact and attending SuperQuest (sponsored by SAO ) at Western Oregon State University. Even before that, I
taught some webpage writing classes for the Umatilla/Morrow County ESD one summer. For several summers I worked a summer job for Express Personnel Services. One of my favorite was doing office work for
the The American
Cancer Society in Pendleton. In my spare time, I play the piano and organ and
keyboard.. Plus I am a computer addict. For the five years previous to moving to Eastern Oregon,
I was co-administrator and teacher (of music, band and computers) at Sonshine Christian
School in Newport, Oregon right on the Pacific coast
in Western Oregon. Sonshine School no longer exists. I also worked at Pacific Shores RV
Resort for five years (concurrently with teaching). Pacific Shores has since then, sold and is now a membership RV resort rather than a public one as before. I am currently the web coordinator for Oregon Business Education Association and National Association of Women in Construction and FASCETS as well as a few others. I love
living in Oregon. I
have lived in several other states.. like Indiana (where I was born), Washington,
California, and Nevada.
I have been internetting for about a lot of years now. Gosh..
could it have been a decade or more? (nod) and am amazed that still each day I learn
more and more about the internet .. and about computing; it is so
fascinating. The last few years my husband and I have gotten into helping people with their computers and with writing web pages. We established our own Business which we called D & J Computers.
