Laverne was diagnosed with cancer that had progressed quite far before her doctors identified it. Otto and Betty Olsson went to Honalulu and brought her home to Tucson, AZ, where she died just a few days later, with Betty sitting beside her.

Karen Olsson felt quite close to her aunt Laverne.

Bill and Noralee live (as of March 2001) in Lawton, Michigan. They are both professional musicians. Bill is also in sales: living trusts and annuities. Noralee does editing of manuscripts at home, for publishing houses. They have four sons: Brandon, Nathan and two others.

Otto Olsson was at Julius' 90th birthday, in PA, USA.

He arrived US abt 1937. Worked carpenter, then entered army. Later opened his own carpet business in Bethlehem, PA.

While he was visiting his wife in the hospital, he discovered that he had won 1/2 million dollars in the lottery. (He had used his ex-wife's birthdate, along with others, which peeved his wife.)

Met Camilla when in port in Alabama.
