Note for: Anneke Jans, 1605 - 1663 Index
Burial:
Date: 23 FEB 1662/63
Place: Beverwick (Albany), NY
Individual Note: Because of the existence of a large inheritance, many people in the 1800s tried to tie their family to Anneke Jans. The situation is described extensively on the Internet. Several individuals in the Bovee line of the family believed that there was a connection, but I (David Corey Olsson) have yet to confirm one. As of Jan 2004, the Anneke Jans chart in this file is unrelated to my Bovee ancestors. I have yet to locate two of the Bovees to whom I am related, though, "Betsy Bovee Oderkack," of Hoosick, NY (1847), and her sister, "Sarah Bovee Chapman." Source: letter by D. Bovee (1896).
