In Total Logging Clear-cut Forests needs

ECO-Forestry approach to Growing cycles

I love visiting 100 forests over 50 years & living & camping in woods for 10 years. Seeing & sensing forest clear-cuts up close is horrifying experience, like a war-zone after attack, just for money! Animal extinctions we know are growing faster since hi-tech in last century after millions, Messenger pigeons, Whales, Beavers bears, big cats, Condors, Buffalos etc, mostly gone for decades. Thank goddess the rare ‘Spotted Owl’ has helped us protect the forest for its habitat for many creatures, when no other need was/is respected to protect the forest. Its near extinction supported our need to save ‘old growth’ wilderness. Rare other ecology science has given us legal leverage to stop total-logging clear-cutting having multiple damaging effects for centuries.

Now for massive unnoticed ‘mini extinctions’ in every clear-cut forest where multiple animals, plants trees & mushroom, are killed or escape the logging devastation, & even fish spawning prevented. So most native varieties become extinct in their habitat from total logg-ing. They rarely return soon, except some birds, grasses, & rodents. Then if they burn slash that kills more life & worse from spray-ing poisons to kill weeds for planting fast-growing mono-crop fir, pine, etc for selling ASAP.

So most the clear-cuts have these predictable damages to native animals, the watershed, soil, seasonal fish & birds. Even if they flee their shelter, food -web & maybe water supply are ruined. But the total habitat is ruined for years to decades or longer if wildfire burns it even more & forest farms prevent most native species form growing there.

Now the issue of heating up our climate from deforesting a whole living system goes beyond the mini-extinctions in every clear cut. Because all ‘patch cuts’ all add together in massive killing the cooling & carbon sinking for reducing greenhouse gases, we need balancing our climate thru seasons cycles. Is that cause & effects of deforesting cycles too vast for ecology science to grasp how were heating up our climate? Or are they just run by corporations needing wood & paper for short sighted profits? That’s like the farmers having cleared forests for growing food that dries up land & heats up watershed. We really have climate creep here in NW & most of US getting warmer & colder in extremes thru seasons.

We need to also debate how valid & needed, toxic & dangerous spraying any forests & farms with poisons are to our health & all varieties living there & our watershed purity down stream.

These are all whole systems eco-cycles we rarely examine & never in court to protect our native healthy food webs & natural health of humans are constantly being damaged & even mutated. The corporations also have state policies protecting them from local regulations on chemical sprays, microwave towers & electric power-grid radiations that are known toxic to humans since 1970s or before. How can we learn & face these issues using Nature to protect her & our health & for future generations?
