What caused the great internal civil-wars the church waged against the ‘evil heretic witches’, even innosent women & children, suspected of devil works. Witchunts began about 1200s AD under Pope Innocent III. It soon died out. But then it exploded in ‘Spain’ late 1400s. Witchcraze 3 burst-anew in 1500s under Catholic Pope Innocent the VIII. Later the Protestants elder men did viscous wars against ‘evil witches’, mostly poor womens (skills/power) blamed for devil possession, serving & sexing the devil.
Many were tortured to extract a confession. If not pleading ‘guilty’ 1000s were killed: burned, drowned, strangled, chopped up, etc, often publicly for the holy-war crimes, tramatizing the pagans. What is the connection between the ‘holy Roman empire’ Crusades with the later witchunting craze? Were women abused thru those ‘holy wars’ also. Lots of war rape i assume, as Joan of Arcs mother is said raped in front of her by the British soldiers, terrorizing Joan. So how does Joan of Arc violent war campaign to liberate France relate to revenge for her mothers murder & rape? Her being burned to death, like witches, by the church fathers just preceded the witchcraze in Spanish Inquisition by a few decades! How many of the witch persecutors stole/seized their property, land, wealth & even children of the mostly poor witches they accused, blamed & attacked?

The ‘Spanish’ Inquisition" in late 1400s pioneered the witchunting torture against Jews, Muslims, women witches, & gypsies? the ‘holy civil-war’ by Spanish rulers was encouraged or secretly supported by the Roman Vatican & Holy Roman (Germanic) empires>?? Here’s some dimensions & dynamics of the vast combination of social trends of witchcraze ‘culture shock’ were:
1. The beginning of ‘renaissance’ art, science & philosophy questioned &or disproved religious dogma, selling forgiveness & required rituals of ‘proof of faith’. It threatened church-stranglehold over communities life!
2. The invention & production of printing press & mass literacy began to
threaten the secret scriptures of holy-war language & liturgy.
3. The printing press was resisted by the Catholics, but later used to publish
a detailed ‘how to find, confess/save & kill witches, titled "Malleus Maleficarum"- "Hammer of the witches" handbook, by 2 Catholic Dominican priests Kramer & Sprenger, was published & widely distributed manual in Europe for ‘saving’ & punishing heretics! under the Vatican Pope Innosent IV, It was used for centuries on.....
4. Low-tech advances brot by new-science & innovations imported from
middle & far east, threatened churches absolute-authority & controls, yet were used after they learned how to, like printing press, guns, etc
5. The pioneering & exploring the ‘neworlds’ by ships of empire-building &
trade routes were beyond the churches knowledge, reach or ability to control spaces.**.
6. The Protestant reformation resisting & splitting off from Catholics
7. Patriarchs (male elders) banded-together to assert domination over the weak & skilled women in their region, were they jealous + vengeful?
Even some protestant sects went ‘witchunt’ crazy, killing women.

How many ‘crazy’ emotional & skilled pagan & hippy women have been tortured via exorcism, surgery & shock-therapy for being possessed by the devil :&; now imprisoned in ‘mental hospitals’ (double speak) for upsetting their family & neighbors?

THE CHRISTIAN INQUISITIONs form CATHOLICs to
the Spanish Empire & Protestant Witchcraze

The "Inquisition" lasted 700 yrs. from Catholic Holy War Crusades to the modern Papal Index, a list of all the banned/censored books ended in 1960s. But by then they’d totally invaded the public schools, government, military & most medical systems, under the illusion of spearpoint of church & state, HA! The Renaissance Inquisition soon burst-out after Joan of Arc was burned as a witch & heretic, in France colluding with the British. In later 1400s the Spanish Inquisition attacked the Jews, Muslims, heretics &
later the Protestants, who rejected the Catholic church corruption in many ways.
Also England & France expelled the Jews after Spain did, with the same heretic craze with ‘holy decrees’ justifying stealing their wealth.
Perhaps the Black Plague killing millions in Europe was the karmic dues & consequences of the civil wars they persecuted & tortured their neighbors? in the name of "god". Jews who refused conversion to the ‘holy’ church path of salvation were persecuted, banished &or tortured. Of course many spiritual pagans were called witches, even if they loved God, Jesus &or Mary. Their ‘inquisition fueled the Reformations, to leave the Catholic church & find some true, safe & peaceful religion &or science.
In the pursuit of ‘holy purity’ of their church & lands (empires) the Inquisitors invented & used some horrible torture devises to extract confessions from suspected sinner=heretics & witches. The ‘Inquisitors hearing/trail’ with the suspected was psycho-warfare to make them guilty & admit sins, like a prisoner of war. After the abuse-demanding- attack a confession was extracted, the sentence & punishment was given, less or worse than the first torture, if they resisted confessing & converting the "Gods grace" If they refused to confess (perhaps lie to stop the pain, under threat of death) then killing was the next suffering. Many were thrown into deep fast rivers, off hi cliffs, etc.
The public tortures were thrilling & scary to the numb & board citizens of the area, most in towns. If the ‘sinner’ confessed just before dying, they were (mercifully?!) strangled rather burned, the ultimate punishment. Public whippings & stonings were common by the frantic revenge of the ‘good (sic) people’!. The worst was the public burning the heretic victims athe stake before crowds of the rich & Christians. The families of so-called heretics/witches/Protestants were labeled as sinners.
England had far less Inquisitions than Europe, evolving some civil rights.
Some of the common torture devices were: burning the feet,
rope hanging & hoisting, gaging & smothering, water dunking & drowning, streching on a rack, limbs torn from body & many others before dying. Many were crippled & terrorized by the torture if they lived thru the great suffering. If they confessed it ‘saved their souls’ if they suffered the correct punishment taking hours to years of rituals, public humiliation & even prison in dark, wet, ratty dungeons. So 1000s got sick & died there. Often the found/made? guilty-sinners were forced to wear a yellow-cross on their robe to pay penance for the heresy.
These horrors continued during the peaks of Inquisition under Popes, kings & queens obsessed with total ‘religious’ domination, ie to prevent the growing scientific revolution, the printing press, witches=womens healing & spiritual power, the Jews influence & controls & any enemy, healer or kingdom that conflicted with their absolute world-control = deadly power-games.
Top me the deep mystery of the Inquisition still is why did the empire leaders& their servants/priests/inquisitors need to threaten, torture & kill millions of neighbors, for ‘gods sake’ reasons? & what karma was making them so ugly, scary, murderous & deadly? Were they getting hateful bad karmic revenge on souls who tortured/killed them in a past life? which happens in wars, murders & assassinations! Will they will faced that to learn, balance out & heal the natural innate need to love everyone fairly?
