Often, while studying an interesting, or perhaps little-known subject, for homework (yes, even homeschoolers have to do homework) I usually write a report or short composition about that topic. Sometimes I simply just retell a biography or event, giving my personal opinion, or I do a full research.

Of course, what I enjoy most is writing about famous people. Not so much about well-known artists or writers, but rather about personalities that Americans, or for that fact, most people around the world, have probably never heard of before. Has anyone heard about the Persian poet Ferdowsi, or maybe the religious sect of the Sufis? I didn’t either until I read about such things in an encyclopedia or textbook… Even thought it is usually difficult to find information not only in books, but also on the Internet, this makes it all the more exciting. I even find some new weird and fascinating facts about historical figures that I thought I knew all about before.

Not only do reports help me to find out more about things I barely knew, they also help me to learn and memorize all the key facts on that topic…
