Portugal - December 2005
December 27th
We started the day off by heading into the Feira da Ladra (Thieves' Market). Feira da Ladra is a large flea market full of new and used items. The market is located in the Alfama district in the shadow of the Santa Engrácia church.

On our last day in Portugal, we took the train northwest of Lisbon to the town of Sintra. In Sintra, we hiked up over the town to visit Castelo dos Mouros, a Moorish castle with breathtaking views over Lisbon. After returning to town, we had a wonderful lunch followed by a visit to an old-fashioned café. The café has been making traditional queijadas (Portugese cheesecakes) for over a century. We had coffee with our queijadas and declared them good enough to buy some for the road.
