Glacier National Park - July 2007

July 19th
The following morning we hit the trail early with Dawson Pass being our destination (6.7 miles in 3,000 feet). The thick underbrush was wet from the previous night’s rain and our shoes were soaked quickly. Eventually, we climbed above tree-line and straight into the clouds that were blowing over the pass. We made it to the pass in about three hours and hunkered down behind a wind break for a snack hoping the clouds would lift. After about 45 minutes, the clouds did break, giving us a spectacular view of the glacier-carved Nyack Creek valley. We took numerous photos and then headed back to camp.
