Crater Lake National Park - January 2008

Due to the snowfall the previous day and night, we thought it would be a good time to stay away from the rim and its wind. Our plan was to start at the Visitors Center 3 miles below Rim Village and ski counter-clockwise up East Rim Drive. Our destination was Sun Notch, five miles away.

We were fortunate to have been behind a group that broke trail through the six or so inches of new powder. We encountered just about every type of weather imaginable on the ski up. We were rewarded with spectacular views from Sun Notch.
