Volunteer With Us!

Catholic Workers: full time staff

St. John Bosco House needs 2 live-in Workers to operate! The heart of our community, they are responsible for the day-to-day functioning of the house. We currently have room and resources available for two full-time, live-in volunteers and hope for one year commitments--although other arrangements have been made.  This is the perfect community for someone who has ideas and wants to take charge. If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail the house, or download an application. If you are curious about our community, feel free to call the house or e-mail our current Workers .

House Volunteers

Relief volunteers

Not everyone can run off and join a Catholic Worker House, but that doesn't mean that you can't hang around there all the time!  Relief or respite workers are an important part of our community life.  With only 2 full-time Workers, we occasionally need volunteers to stay in the house while someone is away. As a relief worker, you can provide supervision while community members are visiting family, cook occasional meals, shop with residents for job search clothes, mentor young mothers, plan birthday parties or community celebrations, raise money for the house, speak publicly to raise awareness about issues of homelessness, create print publicity, write grants, plant a garden, mow our lawn, take kids to concerts, and paint protest signs!  There are so many things you can do at St. John Bosco House.  All  you have to do is call us up with a good offer.

If you are interested in being a relief volunteer, please e-mail our Workers at:

LCCatholicWorker@efn.org, or call the house at (541) 683-7517.
