Flopsy's Japanese Vacation 2004
Vancouver Island must have been just the ticket, as Flopsy didn't leave my desk for the better part of a year. Then, in July 2004, he vanished once more. This time, his absence didn't even faze me. I only hoped that he was having a blast wherever he might be. Later, I found out he was off getting his passport for a trip to Japan! These pictures were included with the passport:

Here's Flopsy at the start of his journey.

This is Flopsy posing in front of the Golden Palace in Kyoto (the original capital of Japan).

The caption on the back of this one was "Prayer Rock". I hope people didn't mind Flopsy perching on it!

Flopsy poses on a different rock, this one in a Kyoto garden.

Here's Flopsy in front of Nijo Castle in Kyoto. Looks like he was thinking of swimming in to take a closer look.

Flopsy pauses to get hugged by a tourist in the Sanjusangendo Temple
(famous for its 1,001 statues of Kannon, the goddess of mercy)
Hmm, I wonder if Flopsy knew that?

Here we see how Flopsy made his way around. He's picked up quite a few hitchhiking tips over the years.

Always the center of attention, here we see Flopsy and his generous admirerers.

Always in the mood for a good ear scratching, Flopsy tries some Miso soup.

Flopsy now has a passion for green tea, but the whole ceremony had him stumped!

Flopsy finds a friend to take him on the Shinkansen Bullet Train (which reaches speeds of 300 km/h!)

Here's a tiny picture of Flopsy in front of a statue near the Imperial Residence in Tokyo.

I think Flopsy was getting ready for another swim. Careful, that water looks a little green!

I'm not sure where he picked up this great Samurai hat, but doesn't he look sharp in it?

Here's Flopsy in front of a very large bell. I tink it may have been used to announce visitors at one time.

Time to go! Flopsy helped fly the plane while the co-pilot was away. Easy on that throttle, bunny!
Where will Flopsy go next? Stay tuned for more!
