Contract for Passage

The undersigned Wambersie & Son of Rotterdam have engaged to forward H. Wesling (who also has signed this contract) with his Company, consisting in: One Person of 12 years and older on the following conditions to Boston in the Stearage per Steamboat leaving Glasgow on the 11 Nov 1871 against payment of
  75.-- (Guilders) per person of 12 years and older including Head- and Hospital money at the port of arrival and being together 75.--.

The departure from here will take place on the 7 Nov 1871. Passengers have to present themselves the day before at the office WAMBERSIE & SON.



CONDITIONS

Free passage to Glasgow via Leith exclusive of provisions, from Rotterdam to Leith per Steamboat in the Betweendeck, from there to Glasgow by Railway, 3rd class.

Free lodging and board at Glasgow. A person will be in attendance on arrival of the Passengers at Glasgow to conduct them to the Hotel; but should he not be there they have to proceed without delay to Handyside & Henderson, 51 Union St., Glasgow.

On the passage from Glasgow to New York Passengers receive the usual provisions according to the class to which they belong. Stearage passengers get

Free transportation of Luggage (10 Engl. Cubic feet per adult, Children one half) to New York.

Passengers provide their own bedding and mess utensils and pay for additional Luggage at usual rate of freight.

Passengers shall superintend their own Luggage, which is not guaranteed for against Loss or damage.

Passengers of 59 years of age or older, cripples, lunatics, deaf, dump(dumb?) and blind, widows and unmarried women with children under 13 years of age orphans under 13 years of age cannot be taken.

Should the departure of the Steamer be delayed beyond the appointed time, Passengers are provided for without any extra charge.

Should the departure of the Steamer from here be delayed by ice or nay other unforeseen circumstances (Force majeure) this contract may be cancelled by refunding of the passage money.

This contract is only binding for the persons mentioned there in. ---   Passengers who do not present themselves in time at the office of WAMBERSIE & SON or by whose defaults the conditions of this contract remain in any way unfulfilled forfeit their passage as well as the amount paid on account.
