What is Activeslug?

My hotmail email username, microsoft msn messenger, aol instant messenger, and netmeeting username is activeslug. I have also logged into the LDS chat page http://www.ldschat.com once on a dare and three other times. Each time I used my hotmail username activeslug. The experience was OK and I had fun, but I was overall not especially attracted to that type of exchange. Until the first time on ldschat, I had not logged into any chat pages so all I had to expect is what I had heard about chat pages, which was not glimmering. During each episode, inevitably, someone asked "What is activeslug?". Now, if I log in again or during other internet exchanges and someone asks, I can direct the person or persons to this page rather than taking up time and possibly boring others who might be "chatting".

The following is the background of activeslug.

While in undergraduate Civil Engineering school at the University of Idaho, I took a required class from the respectable Dr. Wallace in sanitary engineering. The professor is a self-proclaimed graduation goalie and boasts of kicking students out by failing them only to see them come back to his class two, three, even four times before passing.

I struggled with some classes, but didn't want to get booted back because of an arrogant professor who really knew his stuff. So I got into it. I ate, slept, drank, sanitary engineering. I passed the class, gained the respect of Dr. Wallace, and bear the scars to this day.

When the time came for me to register an aol instant messenger name, I chose "activated_sludge", which is material in a sewage treatment plant at a stage of accelerated breakdown. To my dismay, someone else had already chosen activated_sludge, (imagine that) so I took activeslug. .....Now you know where activeslug comes from. Not too pretty of an image. Some say it fits me well, others are still confused, so I will keep it.
