the Present

"In our African language we say a 'person is a person through other persons.' We are made for a delicate network of relationship, of interdependence. We are made to complement each other."
Bishop Desmond Tutu (1931- )
Nobel Peace Prize, 1984
The Present is full of hardships, triumphs, and role models. It is where we all are living and may be one of the most important time periods to focus on. It is often said that we live in the now, and what is going on all around us is very influential in our lives and is based upon the past. In this manner, the Present is a culmination of history, a finished product which has much potential but also a few faults. It is our job to help promote peace in the present so that we may have a more promising future.
