Conductor: Philip Bayles

The Riverside Chamber Symphony is an ensemble of residents of Eugene, Springfield, and Lane County Oregon. The goal of the orchestra is to provide a high quality experience in the study, practice and performance of a variety of musical literature for advanced non-professional players in the region. Many of the participants have outstanding training and experience in orchestras throughout the world. The orchestra meets for 3 terms per year for 8 to 10 week terms, culminating in performances at various sites, and many performances have been recorded and rebroadcast on Community Television Cable Channel 29. Membership is by audition, and there is a suggested donation fee of $25 per term. A history of Riverside Chamber Orchestra performances may be viewed here.

Conductor Philip Bayles has been active in the region's musical life for many years. He was founding conductor of the Eugene Opera, and Eugene Concert Choir, and has appeared with the Eugene Symphony, the Eugene Ballet, and the Oregon Mozart Players to name a few. Bayles is currently Musical Director of the United Lutheran Church.
