As if losing the Brodsky's to Seattle wasn't bad enough, we now need to say goodbye to Gary Goldwater_our first President, first CJL teacher, first newsletter editor, Gabbai extraordinaire, and all around hard worker_sort of a Jewish George Washington. Gary is moving to Seattle as soon as the school year is over to take advantage of the superior weather and more intense yiddishkeit (OK, not the weather). The Board of Directors will be sponsoring a luncheon at the shul on June 8 after services to honor Gary. Please come and let him know how much you appreciate all he has done for the Minyan. In typical Gary fashion, Gary has signed up to sponsor a luncheon on June 15 to say good-bye to us all. Giving, right up until he leaves...that's Gary.
There's another way you can show your appreciation to Gary. Since Gary was so closely involved with education at the shul, we are establishing a Gary Goldwater Education Fund in his honor. Money contributed to this fund will be used to purchase books and other educational materials for adult and youth classes. All these purchases will bear a bookplate honoring Gary. If you would like to show your appreciation for Gary's years of devotion to the shul, please send a contribution in his name to the office.
