Minyan Finds New Home Just Days Before It Has to Move

Not only did the Minyan find a place to rent just 3 days before our lease expired at our old location, but the new location is ideally suited to be a long-range home for us. And we have until July 19 to see if we can make it so. The new location_currently the Fox Point School_ is just one block from our old address, at the corner of West 25th and Portland.

Rabbi Davidson cancelled his plans to attend the OU Small Communities Conference in order to be with the Halachic Minyan on its first shabbos in the new building. Members and friends gathered at the old shul to take the Torah to the new shul for Mincha. With extraordinary dancing and singing, the group slowly, but joyously, made its way across the street! What a day! Such a simcha!

And, if you haven't seen the new shul yet, here's what it's like. There are two buildings on the site, each with about 3,000 square feet. The north building was built as a musicians' union building. Most of the interior is two stories high, with windows high up on the north and south sides. Light streams in even on rainy days. The main sanctuary area has ample room for High Holidays. There are two side rooms which can be used for classroom or office space, a half-kitchen (sink and refrigerator) and plenty of counter space for crock-pots, etc. Ample storage space and two bathrooms, with two toilets each, take up the rest of the space.

The south building has a reception area, large storage areas, two spacious classrooms, handicapped-accessible bathrooms, and a partial kitchen. There is a large, fenced-in play area with decks and play structures. There is more than enough parking. Come check it out and let us know what you think!

The Board of Directors is hard at work trying to make the purchase of this facility possible, bezrat HaShem. Please respond generously when contacted for support. An opportunity like this may not come our way again.
