Short Ourstory

The association is the result of interest by many in the neighborhood to create a simple structure to facilitate healthy interactions in the neighborhood. There is a keen interest by many to connect people with similar interests, to be creative with positive activities for the well being of the neighborhood. The group is totally volunteer and encourages initiatives by its participants. Our roots can be traced to a gardening co-op that has been active in River Road for over five years.

We have had Summits I [November 2003] and Summit II, January of 2004. Both were fun and well attended with agreements made as to what we would like to do as an association. We would like to make ourselves known in the neighborhood so those interested in our activities can be a part. We are working on a name and mission statement.

There have been several potluck/socials, garden workshops, meetings to discuss attracting a bakery/cafe to the 'hood. The association encourages people to be creative and share any skills of fun/healthy ideas that others might like to be a part of.
